This is my first time to Java Jill‘s café and bakery and I really want to support a local business. I don’t think this has been open too long. I got a cold brew with sugar-free caramel pumps in it. And a gourmet birthday cookie sandwich. The only thing that I would’ve done different is, I would’ve added a little creamer to the drink. Otherwise it had good flavor and the cookie was very fresh and tasty as well. I don’t get around here a lot for coffee so I wanted to try it. They also have a drive up window, which is a bonus. It’s decorated like a little coffee/cookie shop would be. Also, the worker was very friendly.

I really wanted to like Java Jill’s. The vibe is there, the staff were genuinely friendly, and the baked goods in the case looked like they belonged on a magazine cover. Unfortunately, the appearance was where the good news ended. My breakfast arrived cold, which would have been forgivable except it was cold after being warmed up, which is a special kind of achievement. Reheated yet still chilly is a texture I didn’t know I’d be experiencing, and it left a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. It became clear pretty quickly that nothing was made to order. A little “made fresh” love would have gone a long way here, but that wasn’t on the menu. The coffee didn’t rescue things. The cold brew was so bland I started to wonder if the beans had simply waved at the water from across the room. Regular coffee wasn’t much better. I’ll give credit where it’s due: the pastries looked fantastic, and the staff seemed lovely. But after skimming a few of the other reviews, I think my stomach and I dodged a bullet by not ordering one. Disappointing all around. I left hungry, mildly caffeinated, and oddly impressed that food could be both reheated and cold at the same time

Loved hanging out here for coffee and some pastries! Nice cozy spot with friendly staff. Most of all their UBE cake! Yum yum yum ! No other place to satisfy your ube craving

This place is a nice and very good place to get sandwiches,cakes,pastries and drinks!!!Good tasting food!!!Ambience is nice and very good location!Highly recommended!

This is the best coffee shop in modesto. I prefer this coffee over every coffee shop. They take thier time with the drink so its very good. My drink is always taste great Baked goods are made fresh. This used to be just a small cakes Bakery but the fact that its coffee and small cakes is the BEST. The service is always great, very personable. They also have a drive through.

This little spot is perfect! Delicious food, drinks, and baked goods! Staff was incredible and accommodating to our dietary needs. They brought out our drinks and food instead of hollering for us. We will be frequent visitors for sure.

This is a new local business helping people find jobs. No one is perfect, so let’s support our local businesses instead of making small critical judgments. I really like the atmosphere of the place, and the workers are very friendly! And the food and drink is yummy especially the Ube drinks!!
